Job Description Whitehill Pelham are recruiting for a Business Development Manager for our specialist software client based in Cambridge. This role will cover the UK market with a focus on new business as well as some account development responsibilities.

Reporting to the Sales Director you will be responsible for developing new business in the UK and ultimately achieving your sales targets. Your responsibilities will include;

- Developing sales plan and maintaining accurate pipeline and forecasting
- Cross selling and up-selling to existing accounts
- Generating leads through a range of activities such as sales call, networking and LinkedIn
- Meeting prospects to understand needs and identify opportunities for the business
- Build a network of influences and decision makers in your market
- Writing proposals and presentations and executing pitches
- Managing opportunities through to close
- Gathering market insights to feedback to senior management and development teams

The ideal candidate will be of degree calibre and have significant experience in a software sales role ideally in a field sales role. Candidates with inside sales experience and a track record of exceeding targets who have the desire to develop their career are encouraged to apply.

You will need to be able to demonstrate experience of developing and delivering a sales strategy, hitting targets and managing a pipeline of leads and opportunities through to successful close. You will be a confident communicator who is able to engage with both technical and commercial people at all levels of a business.
